The Chester County Planning Commission's Multimodal Transportation Planning Director, Brian Styche, shared some exciting news about recent transportation funding awards at CCPC's November Board Meeting.

Statewide Local Share Account

Through the PA Department of Community and Economic Development's Statewide Local Share Account, Styche noted that of the $346,075,488 total statewide funds awarded in October, Chester County received $12,848,320 towards 47 projects throughout the county. This includes everything from road and park improvements, to upgraded utilities and equipment, and more. One notable project, however, is just over $333,000 in funding for the county's Tourism Interactive Kiosks, which is part of the county's Heritage Tourism Plan and planning for the nation's upcoming 250th. Municipal Bridge Retro-reimbursement Program

The Delaware Valley Regional Planning Commission provides funding through the Municipal Bridge Retro-reimbursement Program to secure funding for locally owned, structurally deficient bridge rehabilitation or replacement projects. Styche shared that the most recent round included $20 million in total funding, which spans DVRPC’s region of Bucks, Chester, Delaware and Montgomery counties. In Chester County, funded projects include the Woodland Drive Bridge over Northeast Creek as well as the Park Road Bridge in West Nottingham; Buttonwood Lane Bridge in West Vincent Township; Garrett Mill Road Bridge in Willistown Township; and the Ravine Road Bridge in East Bradford Township.
