Five Years of Landscapes3

Chester County's Comprehensive Plan, Landscapes3, has reached the midpoint of its ten-year lifespan and in recognition of this, the Chester County Planning Commission prepared an overview of the plan's success over the last five years.
Since the plan was adopted in 2018 (and despite the many challenges caused by the pandemic), Chester County has continued to preserve significant open space, modernize our agricultural industry, preserve historic sites, build more apartments and townhouses, expand our businesses, upgrade our educational infrastructure, add trails and sidewalks, and improve our local communities, among other things.
An overview of Landscapes3 achievements was presented at a special meeting on May 14, A Changing World and Chester County, where CCPC staff addressed new and developing trends and their impact on planning, followed by breakout discussions with participants about the key issues affecting their communities and lives.
Information about the plan's assessment can be found on CCPC's website broken into the following sections: Implementation — with significant progress on 52 of the plan;s 57 recommendations; Measuring Change — noting the county's metrics and trends; and Growth & Development — tracking the residential and non-residential development across the county. Additionally, the goals will be highlighted in pairs of two on CCPC's website, eNewsletter, and social media beginning in June.
CCPC is conducting a survey through June 30 to get feedback on what new issues the county should be planning for over the next five years of Landscapes3, as well as the major issues identified when the plan was first adopted. Take the survey!
